Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is a non-hazardous fluid that reduces harmful diesel exhaust emissions. DEF is a combination of two parts water and one part Urea (fertilizer). Diesel engines with (SCR) engine technology produced after 2010 require DEF to meet EPA guidelines. The benefits of using DEF include lower emissions equal a cleaner environment, and that is good for everyone. In addition, fleet vehicles using DEF and SCR technology could see a fuel savings of around 5% compared to similar 2007 models.
